Exercising Your Way to Recovery

Bouncing back after any surgery is rough, but knee surgery comes with one of the hardest recovery processes. It’s difficult to regain mobility; however, it is not impossible.

1. Try doing passive movements with your legs such as walking. This is a simple, yet tried and true way, to getting back on your feet that much quicker.

2. Exercises that will strengthen your legs will be your best friend during this recover process. You need to focus on regaining your range of motion.

3. If you are not yet able to you your injured knee, or don’t feel comfortable, it’s not a bad idea to focus on your other leg. Training your other leg will allow your injured leg to inadvertently be trained. By the time that you are ready to train your injured leg, it will have had a minor jump start.

Knee surgery is a tricky thing, and so is the recovery process. If you are worried that you are not doing enough, or are afraid of doing too much, don’t hesitate to find a personal trainer. A personal trainer can test your limits without risk of further injury, and it’s always best to consult the professionals.
