About Sammie
What inspired me to become a personal trainier?
I knew I loved exercise and being active at a young age. My mom would catch me doing Jane Fonda workouts via VHS tapes and the 1980s "20 Minute Workout" TV shows, when I was about 9 or 10 years old.
I would make up my own workout routines to do at night in my bedroom all the way up until I graduated high school. As time went on and as we all do I became an adult and the 'real world' bills came pouring in. Being in the fitness industry as a trainer wasn't the best way to pay those 'real world' bills at the time. Well, at least not for me. But being in the medical field did. I very much enjoyed being an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) turned Paramedic turned Flight Paramedic. It was challenging, I really got to help people and it paid the bills. But, I never lost that passion for fitness and exercise. After sustaining an elbow injury, I had to make a decision. Either proceed into some type of medical management or do something that I have wanted to be doing for basically my whole life. Become a fitness trainer! With the knowledge and experience I have acquired as a critical care paramedic blended with ACSM training and the passion I have to get people healthy, the time was right. So, now here I am, ready and so excited to help people navigate their fitness goals whatever they may be.
